Swedish architecture office Jagnefalt Milton won the Norwegien master-plan competition for the city of Åndalsne. The proposal is to have rolling buildings through the city on rails. Including a rolling hotel, public baths, concert hall and houses.
Concentrating on the current rail network and creating something unexpected, fully functional and doable. This idea is so important in recent times even in Norway when city space is becoming restricted and when designs tend to follow trends. It is exciting to see something fresh and revolutionary out there which can actually work cost effectively and where people always experience different view points of the design internally and externally and the landscape it traverses across. As it moves through the landscape, depending on the seasons for examples new inspiring outlooks are always available and breath taking.
