El Chalten - Fitzroy Range - Patagonia - Argentina

El Chalten and the Fitzroy range - Patagonia - Argentina. Heading further north we reach our next trekking destination. Again a very weird little town which has no substance, but once again the landscape is outstanding. First days trek is a 9 hour trek too reach lago los tres. Two stunning turquoise lagoons nestled into the rocks of the mountains directly infront of the main fitzroy peaks. Frozen sheets of ice float peacefully along the surface, whilst the deep tones of the water reflect the stillness and beauty of what sits above the surface. An incredibly difficult last 2 hour climb to get there, but the reward made you lost for words. The second day we headed towards another lagoon the otherside of the mountain peaks. What we thought would be a fairly casual short trek, again turned into a six hour walk, through diverse landscapes and constantly changing terrain. Luckily it has all been able to remain fairly untouched and unaffected by the humans that flood there to experience the uniqueness of the fitzroy range throughout the summer season. Another natural wonder combatted and experienced to check off the list!
