Copacabana and Isla do Sol - Lake Titicaca - Bolivia

Isla do Sol known for the famous Inca trail that runs along the top of the island, is a beautiful island that sits high up on the Antiplano of Bolivia.  Little life exists, but the locals still insist on living in the extreme conditions that battle the area throughout the year.  An island  with no paved roads and no motor vehicles allowed and where main activities for the locals consist of farming, fishing and entertaining tourists!
We arrived by boat after a 3 hour trip from Copacabana into a little village flooded by tourists ready to trek the trail.  We had 4 hours to complete the walk to ensure we reached the other-side of the island where we were being collected again.  The walk was incredibly difficult with the high altitude effects on the body, but we all battled on and were able to enjoy the breathe taking views, Inca remains, way of living on the historical and truely unique island.
